But remember: While the Western new year always begins in January, the Chinese lunar calendar starts in either January or February, so you will want to double check that you have determined the proper sign for those in your life. (For example, if you were born on February 1, 1986, you would not be a Tiger, but an Ox. However, if you had a birthday between February 9, 1986, and January 28, 1987, you would be a Tiger.)
