Based in Los Angeles, California, Happiest Baby, Inc. was founded in 2015 by paediatrician and child development specialist, Dr. Harvey Karp, with his wife and business partner, Nina Montée-Karp.
Dr. Karp’s celebrated books/videos, The Happiest Baby on the Block and The Happiest Toddler on the Block, have been translated into over 20 languages and have helped millions of parents around the world.
Dr. Karp's landmark theories guide parents to understand and nurture their infants and toddlers and relieve many stressful issues, like new-parent exhaustion, infant crying, and toddler tantrums. His groundbreaking 5 S’s method (Swaddling, Shushing, Swinging, Sucking, and Side position) is standard paediatric practice for soothing fussy babies. Thousands of Happiest Baby educators have been certified to teach Dr. Karp’s work in hospitals and clinics across America and more than 20 other nations. And, his innovative Happiest Toddler concepts of Toddler-ese, Feeding the Meter, etc., can quickly improve the confidence and emotional resilience of children from 8 months to 5 years of age.
Dr. Karp’s advice has helped parents around the world for almost 20 years, yet recognizing the growing need to help parents’ handle everyday challenges he decided to create smart solutions based on leading science, ancient wisdom, and common sense, with his first focus on helping reduce the No. 1 new parent stress: Exhaustion.
SNOO Smart Sleeper is Happiest Baby’s flagship smart product, invented by Dr. Karp in collaboration with renowned industrial designer, Yves Béhar of Fuseproject and Dr. Deb Roy, Director, Laboratory for Social Machines, MIT Media Lab. After 5 years of development and testing with hundreds of babies, SNOO, the safest, smartest baby bed was born.
